Malaysian Yard Knomes were created when a blue comet from outer space crashed into a Friendly Circus Midget working at The Michigan State Fair in 1987. His name was Ted and he had many friends. But the comet that struck him down transformed him into a yard gnome. He then moved to Knome Alaska and had twelve babies with a hollowed out tree log named Riley. The six babies that were named George died, but the other six lived on to have wonderful careers at Coney Islands in Detroit, and finally decided that if they can make coney dogs, then by gummit they can improv. Hence the troupe was created. They started to rehears in back alleys and in Hallmark Card Stores. Then One Day their agent Gwen G. Gwenny of Santa De Rio called them up and told them she had booked them a gig, and the rest was history. But actually the truth is Malaysian Yard Knomes is an Improv Comedy Troupe created by a group of University of Detroit Mercy Theatre students.
We hope that you will come watch our shows and like us, and keep coming back to our shows when we have them. If you come watch a show and don't like us, you don't have to come back, it's really your decision not ours. We hope you have a fun filled wonderful life and we will strive to do the same. Lemonade taste good.

What are the future goals?
We hope that someday before we die we can have a half hour special on PBS. We also plan on renovating Old Tiger Stadium into a 186,000 seat improv theatre for us to perform in Mondays thru Sundays, 4 shows an evening/night; it might be expensive and we might have to sell the chopper but we believe it can be done, because we have a Golden Ticket!
